Meet Karin: The Heart Behind This Adventure
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
The story of RISE Ministries begins with a woman who dared to dream of something different—a place where women could grow, learn, and thrive without intimidation or judgment. That woman is Karin, and her journey to founding RISE is one of faith, perseverance, and a deep desire to see women empowered in every area of their lives.
A Journey of Faith
Raised in the Catholic faith, Karin found herself yearning for something more—a personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. She was searching for truth and practical answers on how to navigate life's challenges. In a world of constant change and shifting opinions, Karin discovered that God's Word is the same today, tomorrow, and forever. It never changes, it is always true, and it is always relevant.
This revelation transformed everything. Karin began to dig deeply into Scripture, not just to strengthen her own walk with Christ, but to equip herself to teach her children and guide her family. As James 1:5 reminds us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to them." Karin found that wisdom in God's Word, and it became her foundation for everything that would follow.
The Spark of an Idea
As Karin pursued her own personal growth, she encountered a frustrating reality. While trying to learn new outdoor activities—archery, shooting sports, and other challenging pursuits—she often felt intimidated or talked down to. The learning environment wasn't always welcoming, and mistakes felt magnified rather than part of the journey.
Even more heartbreaking, Karin witnessed other women who wanted to get involved in activities like archery being shut down by others—sometimes even their own spouses. We all know that learning from our spouse can be... well, a different animal! The dynamic isn't always conducive to patient instruction and encouragement.
Karin saw women with potential, with desire, with dreams—being held back by fear, intimidation, and lack of support. She recognized that these women didn't need to be made to feel like a bother. They needed to be empowered. They needed community. They needed a space where they could try, fail, learn, and grow without judgment or drama.
And so, the vision for RISE Ministries was born.
Building a Legacy
Karin brings more than just passion to RISE—she brings experience, wisdom, and proven leadership. For 21 years, she has worked as a business owner, helping individuals navigate their financial plans and build secure futures. This experience taught her the value of strategic planning, patient guidance, and meeting people where they are.
Together with her husband David, Karin co-created and founded Raised Hunting, a national television show and product manufacturing company that has inspired countless families to embrace the outdoors and create lasting memories together. They also founded ‘Raised at Full Draw’, a nonprofit youth camp, dedicated to teaching hunting and archery to the next generation.
Through these ventures, Karin learned something powerful: hands-on experience outdoors creates transformation that classroom settings alone cannot achieve. There's something about facing a challenge, drawing a bow, steadying your aim, and hitting your target that builds confidence in ways that ripple through every area of life.
Paige Barnett - Executive Director
Growing up in the beautiful state of Montana, horseback riding has been a significant and cherished part of my life. My upbringing instilled in me a deep appreciation for the natural world and the unique bond formed with horses. Throughout my military career, moving frequently allowed me to deepen my connection with God, horses, and the outdoors—elements that continue to bring me peace and strength.
I enjoy riding my mare, bow hunting, and spending time outside, activities that ground me and nurture my well-being. I am happily married and a proud parent to a wonderful son, which enriches my life and further motivates my commitment to growth.
Professionally, I work closely alongside Karin. Together, we are dedicated to supporting and empowering women as they navigate the complexities of balancing life, relationships, health, and more. Our shared mission is to provide valuable resources that inspire meaningful personal growth and promote overall well-being. We believe every woman deserves support and encouragement on her journey to a fulfilled and balanced life.
